Now it's Asia's turn. Intense cold weather has infiltrated much of the Asian mainland. 1,000 miles east of the Urals temperatures have dipped to -70C (that's -94F, not including wind chill). Northern China has suffered through a nasty blizzard of snow and sand with accumulations reaching 60 cm (24 inches). Snow has even moved into parts of Japan and intense cold is reaching as far south as India.
