Some parts of eastern North America were not only treated to a White Christmas but to a splendid aurora as well. This photo, taken near Cap-Rouge, Quebec on December 26, shows emerald and lime colored curtains decorating the night sky. It was taken with a Coolpix 995 camera using 400ASA film and an exposure of 15 seconds. Note that the low-hanging clouds are brightened by the long exposure as well as by reflection from the city lights.
