On the above photo, the fast-sinking Sun is seen through the prism of an urban jungle. The distorted orange ball, when viewed through a slanted glass window, brought the photographer to a halt as he climbed a long stairway in Paris. Glass, especially old windows having varying thicknesses, can refract light in such a way to enhance an otherwise prosaic scene.
