Sunset Rainbow

The above two photos were taken late in the afternoon during the autumn of 1999, over the city of Limburg (Netherlands). This rainbow was observed for a very long time, and as can be seen from the above sequence, clouds actually passed in front of the bow during the period it was visible. The huge arch of this rainbow indicates that it was photographed as the Sun approached the horizon, and in fact, since the bow is obviously reddened, it's likely that it was captured very close to sunset.
