This picture was taken in early June in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and was something I had always wanted to photograph; a rainbow in front of a forest covered mountain range. Notice how the primary rainbow comes down in front of the mountains and apparently fades into the parking lot. The left side of the bow was much more intense than the right side. In order for rainbows to be seen, the Sun can be no higher than about 43 degrees above the horizon.
