Wilson Alwyn Bentley (1865-1931) is famous for his photomicrographs of snow crystals, which were prepared on glass lantern slides at his oudoor laboratory near his home in Jericho, Vermont. His patience and diligence resulted in thousands of beautiful photographs, such as this "ordinary dendrite" crystal above.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
