The above photo, showing a "bloodshot" sky just after sunset, was taken in late January over Ray City, Georgia. Altocumulus clouds act as the canvas for the Sun's extended rays. Of all clouds, those at mid-level heights generally produce the most eye catching skies at sunrise and sunset.
