This photo of blushing sunrise was captured over northern California on February 13, 2004. The Nimbostratus Opacus clouds produced an eerie glow across the area, almost like being inside a rainbow. However, within 10 minutes, the clouds turned ash gray, the winds increased and heavy downpours occurred, causing flash floods in a number of flood prone locations. "Red sky in morning, sailors take warning."
