Curitiba Sunset

This magnificent sunset was taken from my living room in Curitiba, Brazil in early December of last year. The Sun had set a few minutes before the photo was taken, thus its rays were hitting the high cirrus and mid-level altostratus and altocumulus clouds from below. Notice how the color of the clouds turns from yellowish to vermillion as they appear farther from the horizon -- greater pathlength of the Sun's rays reddens the light.
