The stirring sunrise photo above was taken on March 22, 2005 from Rupelmonde, Belgium. Brilliant red clouds accented by a subtle Sun pillar got this day off to a fantastic start. However, the red sky was also a portend of stormy weather, confirming both the weather forecast and the old adage "red sky at morn, sailors be warned." The weather here in Belgium is mostly ruled by westerly winds. If clouds are present in the eastern sky during the early morning, typically, the sky will soon fill, and by day's end, rain is likely to fall.
