The above photo showing a cumulus congestus cloud was taken from the France Pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase, in Orlando, Florida on May 12, 2005. This well-positioned cloud blocked the Sun while allowing rays of sunlight to be scattered. However, turrets along the top of this building cloud obscured some sunlight, creating the shadowed stripes. Known also as Ropes of Maui or simply, sunbeams, they diverge or spread out in all directions.
