There were telescopes galore at the WOW (Wisconsin Observers Weekend -- 1st weekend in June), an annual event for 150 campers and their telescopes. The weekend offers three nights of camping in an area with a dark night sky since the nearest towns are Waupaca (population of 5,400, 10 km or 6 miles to the east) and Stevens Point (population of 25,000, 48 km or 30 miles to the west). Skies were partly clear early, allowing people to search for deep space objects and easily enjoy the moons of Jupiter, rings of Saturn. In addition, during the day, some exceptional observations of the Sun were made.
