The stunning halo complex above was photographed at Quimper (Bretagne), France on October 28, 2006. The Sun was about 15 degrees above the western horizon. Included in wondrous display was the 22° halo, parhelia, upper tangent arc, circumzenithal arc, supralateral arc, and the Parry arc. I took this photo, as well as the ones linked below, along a major highway. Halos are sometimes too ephemeral to wait for the 'best' viewing opportunity.
Photo details: Canon 350D, + Sigma 10-20, 10 mm and f/18, approximately 1/500 sec. at 200 ISO.
