Snoqualmie Falls, Washington
December 02, 2006
The photo above shows the dramatic Snoqualmie Falls on the Snoqualmie River in Washington State -- about 30 minutes east of Seattle along Interstate 90. Behind this 270 (82 m) foot waterfall sits a small hydroelectric power plant (at far right), which generates enough electricity to power approximately 16,000 homes. More than 1.5 million people visit the Snoqualmie Falls each year. The building on the cliff edge is the very elegant Salish Lodge and Spa (at far left). Photo taken on July 3, 2006.
