Castle Coeffin was built in the 13th century in western Scotland to withstand invaders of Lismore Island. While it served that purpose well, it could not withstand the ravages of time; earthquakes (yes, even in Scotland), wind and rain. Now it's no more than an eroded husk of metamorphic rocks.
