These curious ice crystals were actually photographed inside a large grocery store in the San Francisco area. The store has refrigerators for produce that needs to be kept cold, and the doors of these containers happen to be made out of glass. Thus it's easy to peek inside. On occasion, when vapor and temperature conditions permit, ice crystals develop between the double glass panes of the doors. These feathery beauties would have made Mother Nature proud.
