Sunset Shift During Autumn
December 15, 2007
The photo above is a composite image showing five sunsets shot from the same location, in Mouscron, Belgium, during the autumn of 2006. From right to left:
October 12 - November 12 - November 25 - December 3 - December 16
South is at the left. Note the shift in the Sun's position, which migrates southward from October 12 through December 16. This southern slide isn't halted until the winter solstice (December 22). Persistent cloudiness throughout much of October and early November precluded additional views of the setting Sun.
