California Tidal Pool

The photo above showing a Pacific tidal pool was captured along the California coast. While driving along the Pacific coast, my wife and I stopped to watch and listen to the surf crashing against the rocky shoreline. As we strolled along the shore, we noticed this small tidal pool - a relatively undisturbed environment for minute animal and plant life. Note the growth of dark green algae coating the submerged stones.
