Eiffel Tower and Crescent Moon
September 29, 2008
The photo above shows a gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower all aglow and the waxing, crescent Moon. It's sometimes said that the crescent Moon looks more or less like the letter "C" when decreasing and the letter "D" when increasing. On a given night, when you look in the sky and the Moon's right side is brightly lit, it's in its waxing phase. On the other hand, if the Moon's left side is illuminated, then it's a waning Moon. Photo taken in Paris, France on April 9, 2008.
