The photo above shows the entrance to Walim Tunnel, the site of a secret arms storage facility for the Third Reich, in the Owl Mountains of southwest Poland. The Owl Mountains contain some of the oldest rocks on Earth. They’re also rich in gemstones, such as agate, opal, and amethyst. Additionally, uranium and other mineral ores were mined here in the past. This area of Poland is noted for its parlkands, military fortifications and long, mysterious tunnels.
