The photo above featuring a conspicuous set of crepuscular rays over the Corinthian Gulf was captured near Corinth, Greece, on July 23, 2008. Gaps in clouds below the horizon produce the bright lanes where sunlight is able to stream across the darkening sky. It's only because of perspective that the beams appear to diverge. In actuality, the Sun's rays are parallel.
