The video above shows the Moon looking like a curved piece of gossamer.

This very young new crescent Moon was captured during a 20-minute span just before dusk on November 27, 2008, near Paris, France. It's difficult to view a young Moon less than a day past the new phase because the slender crescent is easily lost in the bright glow at the end of day. The record for the earliest sighting of a lunar crescent with the unaided eye is on the order of 15.5 hours from the New Moon phase.
