In the past two weeks, America’s midsection has been pummeled by powerful storms, producing torrential rains and causing deadly flash floods. Following a severe thunderstorm in Lenexa, Kansas, I observed a segment of a rainbow with its rippled reflection in a stream over-running its banks. It symbolizes an uneasy but still welcome truce after the most recent batch of nasty wind and rain storms. Notice that this jaunty arc is curved similarly to the cottonwood at right center. Photo taken on June16, 2010.
