Autumn leaves enmeshed in an artful swirl of light reflecting trees and branches float down the Logan River after passing beneath a bridge at the mouth of northern Utah's Logan Canyon. The sky was gray on this October day, which contributed to the photograph's somber colors -- at top. Even though nearby oaks and maples were reflecting golden yellows and russet reds (bottom photo) this moody liquid canvas sprinkled with a bit of fall color fought for my attention. Note that the rougher the water surface (greater number of ripples), the duller the reflection. Both photos taken from a pedestrian bridge over the Logan River on October 14, 2013.
