The photo above shows an aerial view of Iguazu Falls on the Iguazu River, along the border of Brazil and Argentina. Sediment-laden flood waters resulting from very heavy rains in mid September 2013 has stained the river a brownish-red color. These magnificent falls stretch more than 8,800 ft (2,680 m) and plunge from a basalt escarpment 260 ft (80 m) high in places. Photo taken on September 24, 2013.
