The photo above shows an area of fog in Lyell Canyon, Yosemite National Park, California. Mount Lyell (13,120 ft or 4,000 m), illuminated in the early morning, is in the background. After thundershowers the previous night, air in the canyon cooled as the sky cleared. Once the temperature dropped to the original dew point, fog quickly formed. Lyell Glacier, the largest glacier in Yosemite, is seen below Mount Lyell's summit and also in the meadow pond at bottom. Photo taken on July 19, 2013.
