The panorama above shows a natural cove on the coast of Arcoudillas at Asprokavos Cape, near Corfu, Greece. This nightscape was taken in full moonlight. The curvy parallel bands at left center are pebble-to-small-boulder size rocks deposited along with clay sediments (foreground) some 1-2 million years ago.

Note the Milky Way at the right center of the panorama. At upper left a portion of Ursa Major can be seen. Bluish-white Vega, the brightest star in the constellation Lyra and the fifth brightest star in the night sky, is found at center, just above the Milky Way. Panorama taken on March 21, 2014.

Photo details: Canon EOS 40D camera; 15mm fisheye lens; f/2.8; ISO 400; 27 X 30 second exposure.
