Shown above amidst wavy clouds that look like they were painted by Van Gogh is a sliver of the Moon, as observed near my home in Zaragoza, Spain. Strong winds known locally as the cierzo, streaming over the Moncayo Mountains in the far background were responsible for the layered effect of the sky that fades from denim overhead to apricot near the horizon. Red lights from a small airport are in the mid-ground, at center. Photo taken on June 18, 2015.
