Do you know over what city (the dark blotch at the left center) the above photo was taken? The Space Shuttle Atlantis is shown docked to Mir during Mission STS081. Though the landscape looks Siberian, it was actually taken over the US in January of 1997. Do you need a hint? North is to the left. Need a bit more help? Frank Sinatra sang about it (that probably won't help you if you're younger than about 70). Still stumped? Its nickname has to do with an element of meteorology. One more? The large, partially cloud covered lake is the namesake of a state. The answer is given below.
