Summary author & editor: Jim Foster
Heat signatures (red) and smoke (light blue) are visible from fires burning in central Florida as seen from the NOAA-14 polar orbiter on February 19. The fire burning between Tampa and Orlando has seared over 11,000 acres near the town of Polk City and has forced the closure of Interstate 4 nearby due to heavy smoke. Another large fire is visible to the southeast of Orlando, between the towns of Cocoa and Melbourne. A few smaller fires are also noticed to the west of Lake Okeechobee.
