A picturesque northeastern Wisconsin thunderstorm on a hot summer afternoon prompts the question - how far away is it? To find out, radar data from Green Bay (GRB) is combined with a base map provided by Mapquest to better pinpoint the location of the observer and the storm. The towering thunderhead is about 15 miles away and poses no threat to the rest of a sunny afternoon, but provides a nice sense of scale of the thunderstorm process.
