A brief display of the Northern Lights (only a few minutes) was captured on the night of July 26. This red aurora was photographed in the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve, approximately 75 km north of Quebec City. The camera was facing north. Note the Big Dipper (Ursa Major) at the upper left. At this latitude (47 degrees north), and at this time of year, auroras are infrequently observed.
