This is a multiple exposure of the annular eclipse of the sun visible in Playa San Carlos, Mexico last week. The clouds generated by Hurricane Boris almost ruined the observation but a thin sliver of the sun was visible for a few minutes at sunset. The moon was in the ascending node when the picture was taken. If the orbit of the moon was not inclined, every month we would see a solar eclipse. Credit: Jimmy Herrera and Lonnie Pacheco
