Milky Way and Meteor

The above photo was taken on July 3, 2003 and shows the Milky Way, at left, and a meteor (or perhaps an iridium flare), at lower right. It was taken with a Konica Centuria 1600 camera using a 16 mm lens. Incidentally, the annual Perseid Meteor Shower is underway now. Even though the full Moon will preclude the observation of dim "shooting stars," if skies are clear, it's still worth taking a look -- best time to observe is before dawn on August 13.
