The above photo was taken earlier this summer at Mount Meron, in the Galilee area of Israel. It shows a depression in the ground cause by persistent flooding and a central hill of soil held in place by tree roots. This demonstraes an old technique used in traditional agriculture in which rows of trees were planted in flood prone areas to prevent drift and mud slides.
