The above photo was taken on a cold winter morning (February 2003) outside of Breckenridge, Colorado and shows a cloud corona, which occurs as a result of diffraction of sunlight. This phenomenon is sometimes called irisation, if far from the Sun, however, this is not one of those cases. The glorious colors of this corona loom above the rising Sun (below the conifers). Full color was brought out using levels in "Photoshop," but no color modifications were made.
