While flying from Atlanta to Los Angeles, early last month, our route took us near a huge thunderstorm complex over Texas. An amazing display of cloud-to-cloud lightning illuminated thunderheads close to our 37,000 feet (11,278 m) cruising altitude. I pressed my Leica Minilux Zoom camera to the window and shot a dozen shots hoping to time it just right -- the one above perfectly captured what I was seeing. It was truly an awesome display of Nature's might.
