This picture was taken from the campus of Clemson University in South Carolina (outside of McCabe Hall) and shows a brilliant sunset, created in part by the passing of Hurricane Isabel in mid-September. At sunset (or sunrise), if high or mid-level clouds are present, as if often the case with spiral bands from hurricanes, the sky can quickly turn brilliant shades of red. In general, the higher the cloud, the longer it's bathed in the Sun's rays.
