This gorgeous sunset was captured on the first day of spring (March 20, 2004) near Green Valley, Arizona. Southern Arizona has a reputation for rich twilight colors. An influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean, (in the form of high and mid altitude clouds) combined with a desert landscape and a wide-open horizon, can make for startling sunsets and sunrises.
