Delicate Arch is probably the most famous of about two thousand arches in Arches National Park in Utah. It was created by wind and water erosion from a thin upright fin of Entrada sandstone. Many potential arches collapse during their formation, but others like Delicate Arch are strong enough to support their own weight and survive.
