Pictured here is one of the many trails at Devils Lake, Wisconsin. The trails leading up to the rock climbing areas (which is why I was there), were created by the government back in the 1930's by a group called the "CCC", which stood for "Civilian Conservation Corps". There is an 'anomalous' section of the park that actually is comprised of sandstone. But that is rather inconsistent with the rest of the park which is Baraboo Quartzite . The lake itself is almost 'keyhole' shaped when viewed from above.
