On the Beach

When you're relaxing on the beach, there's no need to actually come out from under the palapa to snap a photo to send back home. This serene scene was captured in Cancun, Mexico, looking east across the Caribbean Sea, around 11 a.m. The air temperature was about 85 degrees F (30 C), and the water temperature was in the upper 70s (26 C). Mild sea breezes, turquoise water, warm sand, and a few cumiloform clouds (cumulus humilus and cumulus congestus) to break the azure blue sky -- a nice escape from the gray and cold of winter.
