This photograph shows Mueller Lake (a pro-glacial lake), the Mueller Glacier (just below the center of the image), and the glaciated peaks of the Southern Alps, including Mt. Sefton. Mueller Glacier has been in retreat for more than twenty five years. Note the end moraine in the foreground and a kame terrace visible on the right-hand side of the photo. The picture was taken in the late afternoon on a near-perfect day (March 11, 2006).
