This ferocious looking roll cloud was observed at the end of a series of thunderstorms which swept through Eschenbergen, Germany (central Germany) during the evening of June 19, 2006. As with the other storms, this storm cloud moved from west to east, and the winds and rains accompanying it were quite intense, lasting for approximately 30 minutes. Roll clouds are detached form the parent cumulonimbus cloud and often appear to roll about the cloud's horizontal axis.
