The photo above shows Mt. Batok and Mt. Bromo, on the island of Java in Indonesia, being illuminated by the early morning Sun. In the background, a relatively small eruption on Mt. Semeru, the tallest of the 128 active volcanoes on Java (12,066 ft or 3,678 m), accents this splendid but tumultuous scene. Photo taken this past August.
