The photo above shows the dramatic Snoqualmie Falls on the Snoqualmie River in Washington State -- about 30 minutes east of Seattle along Interstate 90. Behind this 270 ft (82 m) waterfall sits a small hydroelectric power plant (at far right), which generates enough electricity to power approximately 16,000 homes.
