The photo of this ruby imbued drop of water clinging to the tip of a rosebush leaf was taken from my garden in Burgundy, France, this past August. Within the gemlike drop, and others flanking it, is an inverted image of a red rose and the trellis supporting it (click on photo to enlarge). The liquid drops act as lenses, reflecting and refracting sunlight.
Photo details: Canon EOS 350D camera with a 70-300 mm APO DG Sigma lens set to 100 ISO at f/7.1 for a 1/640 second exposure.
