The photo above was snapped from the northern tip of the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark, near Skagen (pronounced “Skayen”), on July 13, 2007. This is in the Kattegat, the strait between Denmark and Sweden, where the rough waters of the North Sea meet the calmer waters of the Baltic Sea. A clear line delineates the meeting of these two waters. Note the couple walking up the sand spit on the far left. At the very point of the spit, a family of seals basks in the mid-summer Sun. Click on the photo for a much larger view revealing the details.
