The photo above shows the extended shadows of Old Red and the photographer as taken late in the day on November 28, 2007, from northern California. The Sun was approximately 22 degrees above the horizon and directly behind the camera. Notice the distorted triangular shapes of the shadows, which is essentially due to perspective. If we were to look at this scene from above, it would show a stretched out version of the horse and photographer but not the exaggerated long-legged version seen at eye level.
