This fine view showing the appaloosa landscape of Rocky Mountain National Park looks like it could have been taken on a clear winter's day. However, it was actually snapped June 17, 2007 near Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved highway in the United States. Trail Ridge Road runs between Grand Lake, and Estes Park, Colorado and reaches a height of 12,183 feet (3,711 m). The mountains in the background are part of the appropriately named Never Summer Range.
